Hair Extensions: The Truth Behind the Hair
Richard Millstein, Hair Extensionist since 1989
The Journey
Richard has been a master of hair extensions since 1989, and his journey has been nothing short of fascinating. He started with synthetic hair and a four-stem brad but soon realized that Chinese hair blended with synthetic hair was a better option. During his time in England, he learned the art of attaching human hair with resin, which opened up a new world of possibilities. As he progressed, he discovered Indian Remy hair, eventually leading him to luxurious European hair.
Throughout his journey, Richard learned that the quality of hair used in extensions was directly proportional to the realism and style of the final product. He experimented with various hair types until one of his suppliers sent him some virgin hair to play with. From that moment on, Richard was hooked on virgin hair and refused to use anything else.
Of course, using the best hair came with a price, and Richard had to charge more for his services. As an artist, he was more concerned with using the best hair possible, even if it meant losing some clients who couldn’t afford to pay more. Over time, he realized that having fewer clients paying more was better than having more clients paying less. The more clients paid, the better they took care of their extensions, and the less they complained.
Richard’s journey has been one of passion, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. He has learned that using the best materials and charging a fair price is the key to success in the hair extension industry. His clients know that when they come to him, they are getting the best of the best, and that is why they keep coming back.
I frequently receive emails from various hair suppliers who claim to offer authentic Virgin Remy Hair. However, my experience has shown that these claims are often misleading. Despite their assurances, the hair I purchase from these sources often turns out to be something entirely different. For instance, they may advertise Indian Remy Hair, but upon closer inspection, it is actually Chinese Hair that has been chemically processed to mimic the texture of Indian or European Hair. Alternatively, they may claim to offer Indian or Vietnamese Hair, but the actual product falls short of these promises.
Unfortunately, the hair industry is largely unregulated, which means that suppliers can label their products however they see fit. This lack of oversight can make it difficult for consumers to know what they are truly getting. To avoid being duped, I have developed a reliable method for testing hair sources. Specifically, I use a number 613 colored hair, which is a light blonde shade. By examining the quality and texture of this hair, I can determine whether a supplier is truly offering authentic Virgin Remy Hair or something else entirely.
In conclusion, while the hair industry can be fraught with misleading claims and false advertising, there are ways to protect oneself as a consumer. By remaining vigilant and testing hair sources before making a purchase, individuals can ensure that they are getting the quality they deserve.
The Truth about Hair Extensions
When purchasing shampoo, you can easily read the ingredients listed on the bottle. However, when it comes to hair extensions, the process is not as straightforward. Unfortunately, the hair extension industry is not regulated, which means that anyone can sell human hair and label it as Remy without providing any proof of quality or origin. But what exactly does Remy mean? Remy refers to the hair cuticle, which is how hair grows from your head. If the hair is not cuticle correct, it will eventually become matted over time.
It’s important to note that many Chinese and Indian hair extensions that claim to be Remy have had the cuticle removed to lighten the hair to a number 613, which is a light golden blonde. While the hair that has had the cuticle removed may feel silky, it lacks body. The quality of the hair source is a crucial factor in determining whether the hair is truly Remy.
To ensure that you are purchasing high-quality Remy hair extensions, it’s important to do your research and only buy from reputable sources. Don’t be fooled by cheap imitations that may end up damaging your hair in the long run. By investing in high-quality Remy hair extensions, you can achieve the beautiful, natural-looking hair that you’ve always wanted.
Regarding hair extensions, the better the Hair, the better the results. But clients only know what their stylists tell them, and stylists only know what Hair they buy from the extension company they learned from. Each extension system offers different Hair, but the better ones use Indian Temple Hair.
Keratin Tiped Hair Extensions
Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about “Keratan Tipped Extensions.” But when I sent a batch of the tips to the company that manufactures my resin, they told me that all the pre-bonded tips are synthetic and that adding Keratan wouldn’t make a difference. So, even if some companies claim to use Keratan, it might not be accurate.
Virgin Hair
That’s why I started looking for a better source of Hair. I came across the Russian Hair Club and purchased almost a kilo of their naturally wavy Hair. I know for a fact that it is virgin Hair, which means it has never been chemically treated. Once you use virgin Hair, you’ll never want to use anything else. There is no color ring for Virgin Hair. You can see photos of the available Hair to choose the color and texture that’s right for you.
At Extend USA, we believe in educating our clients about different hair types so that you can choose the best Hair for each client. In addition, we’re the only hair extension system that allows you to use whatever Hair you like. So, if you want to give your clients the best possible results, purchase your Hair from a reputable source. We teach using Chinese Hair, but we sell European and Russian Virgin Hair.
